The settings-windows consists of several tabulators, which helds all settings of the program.

USB


This tab holds the settings for devices which are connected with USB. Serial interfaces which are connected with an USB interface connector are not mentioned with this tab. Only direct connections are configured here.

Use USB Interface

With this check box the USB connection is enabled. On the next connection request the USB-device is searched for valid devices.

Look for Devices at startup

With activated option, the search for devices is called automatically after startup of the program.

Look for new Devices every ... seconds

If this option is activated, the program searches for devices every ... seconds.


Serial


This tab helds the parameters for serial connected devices.

Use serial Interface

The serial interface is enabled.

Look for Devices at startup

With activated option, the search for devices is called automatically after startup of the program.

Set Devices to offline when connection failed

If this option is activated, the connected device is set to "offline" if a parameter access is failed.

Available Ports

In this Listbox the serial interface which is used for searching devices is enabled. More than one interface can be enabled simultaniously.

Address range

on every physical interface more than one device can be exist. in this text boxes the address range for searching devices can be defined.


Ethernet


This tab configures the ethernet connected devices.

Use Ethernet Interface

The ethernet-connection is enabled with tis option. The connection parameters like IP-Address is defined in the connection dialog (see connection).

Timeout

All ethernet packets have to be acknowledged in a certain time. The acknowledge-time depends on the speed of the used ethernet connection. The timeout value until a packet is marked as not acknowledged can be set here. On local connections a default value of 2000 ms is set.

CAN


On this tab devices with a controller area network connection can be configured. A direct access with the pc to such devices needs a special interface. Compatible interfaces can be purchased here: http://www.peak-system.com/

USE CAN Interface

The CAN-Interface is enabled with this check box.
