Connect to Device
If at least one connection is enabled in the settings dialog, the programm searches for devices on the selected interfaces. Dependant on the interface a dialog window can be appear to specify the connection parameters:

The IP-Address of the device has to be set. This is done in the device selector window:
In the list all recent used devices are listed. If the Device is already there, it can be activated with the check box in front of the device name. More than one device can be selected.
If the device is not in the list, it can be added with the Add-Button. The Name of the Device and the IP-Address has to be given before in the appropriate text boxes.
Devices can be deleted from the list with the delete button.
After confirming the selection with OK, the program is searching the selected IP-Addresses and connects the found devices:
To connect devices directly over controller area network (CAN) an interface from http://www.peak-system.com/ is necessary. The Selection of the device address is done with the CAN Device Selector window:

The connected CAN-Interface hardware is choosen from the Hardware List. If a USB-Adaptor like the above shown picture is used (most common case), this interface must be recognized by the operating system. In this case it listed in the hardware list as "PCAN_USB" Device shown above. More than one USB interface can be connected. If the USB-Device is not listed, the driver of the device is not installed properly. Please install the driver described in the hardware manual.
If the interface is a ISA or DNG Contoller, the Hardware type is selected in this checkbox.
The speed of the CAN-Connection is set in this list box. The bus-speed must be the same than the configured speed of the device.
On one CAN-bus more than one device can be connected. with this text-boxes the address of the devices can be set. between two devices a gap of hexadecimal 10 must be existing. in the above shown exampled devices with the address of 400, 410 and 420 are searched.
