Toolstrip

The toolstrip menu consists of the following entrys:

Load of a Parameter Set

A parameter set is loaded from a binary or text file. This parameter set is added to the parameter editor as offline device. In this offline device all parameters (a valid license required) can be displayed and edited. A change of a parameter has do direct influence to any device, but it can be written to a parameter file again with the write menu item.

Copy Parameter Set to Device

A parameter file is loaded and transferred to a device directly. The parameter set is not displayed separately.

Save Parameter Set

The actual selected parameter set is saved to a file. The file type is either binary (bpf) or textual (xml).

Save Parameter Sets of all Devices

The parameter sets of all connected devices are saved to the selected folder. The file names are generated from the device names and software versions.

Script

The scripting window is opened with this button (see Scripting).

Save to non volatile Memory

During normal operation all parameter values are saved only in the memory of the device. These values are lost in case of a voltage drop out. Because of this every device have one ore more non volatile memories available. All Values have to be transferred manually to the non volatile memory. This is done mainly with this button.

In some devices (like converters) it is not possible to save the values into the non volatile memory at some conditions for example in the running state. In this case the storage is not performed and the reason is noticed into the Log of the device.

On some devices with mor than one non volatile memory area not all values can be saved with this button. For saving the other areas see parameter Flash Command

Restore to Factory Defaults

All Parameter Values are restored to the factory default values:

Reset of the Device

This button performs a software reset of the device. During the reset procedure the connection to the device got lost. A reconnect with the connect button is possible after a short while.

Display if Values are Changed

The red or green dot shows, if one or more values are different to the stored values in the non volatile memory.

the tooltip of the mous shows the memory areas of the changed value.

In the here displayed example the EEProm is changed. The non volatile memory can be saved with the Button .

In case of the Factory-EEProm or Factory-Flash the data can be saved with Parameter 4.

Clear Offline Devices

All offline devices are cleared with this button.
